Courtney Hunt writes smart, sexy romantic stories with a paranormal twist. When she isn’t traveling around the world in search of new writing ideas, Courtney divides her time between her mansion in St. Thomas, her Irish country manor and her gorgeous custom sailboat, the “Happily Ever After.” Now a best-selling author, Courtney is a married mother of two children and three cats. In her free time, she enjoys shopping, sailing and answering a deluge of fan mail.
Okay, so the above isn’t exactly factual—yet.
Born and raised in Alexandria, Virginia, I knew from an early age that I wanted to be a writer. From the day I snuck my very first romance (Partners by Nora Roberts) from my mother’s library bag, I was hooked. I love to read all types of romance, especially paranormal and contemporary, and often scribbled short stories while still in school. In 1997, I co-authored a romance saga with my best friend and I never looked back in pursuing my writing dream.
I am published in book length non-fiction with The History of Iraq from Greenwood Press. Additionally, I am a member of the Romance Writers of America, Virginia Romance Writers and the Washington Romance Writers. Also, I was a staff romance reviewer with Bridges Romance Magazine for two years.
In my day job, I am an attorney specializing in contract law. Before discovering that I wanted to become a novelist, I earned my Juris Doctor degree from George Mason University School of Law in 1996 and was sworn in as a member of the Virginia State Bar the following year. I received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature with a minor in Russian history from George Mason University in 1992. I graduated from Bishop O’Connell High School as a member of the class of 1989.
In April 2002, I married my very own Prince Charming. We reside in Northern Virginia with our two cats, Frank and Carolina. My older cat, Mischief, chose to remain home with his “grandmother” when I married. Casey is my sister’s dog but I consider him my dog too.
